Kaithal (District): Kaithal, initially a Sub Division in Karnal District since 1896, gained independence as a district in Haryana on 1 November 1989. According to mythology, it is recognized as the birthplace of Lord Sri Hanuman Ji, hence originally named Kapisthal, signifying the place of Kapi (Hanuman). Over time, it evolved into its shortened form, Kaithal. Notably, there is a renowned site named ‘MAA ANJANI KA TILA,’ dedicated to the mother of Lord Hanuman, Mata Anjani Devi. With the establishment of the Kaithal District on 1 November 1989, the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate and Senior Sub Judge was inaugurated on 14 February 1991. The Kaithal Sessions Division was officially declared by the Hon’ble High Court on 30 March 2005, with Shri H.S. Bhangoo assuming the role of its first District and Sessions Judge on May 9, 2005. Additionally, there is a court in the Guhla Sub Division.
Guhla (Sub-Division): Guhla stands as the sole Sub Division within the Kaithal Sessions Division, predating its formation in 1991. The Kaithal Bar Association, established in 1905-06, played a significant role. In 1970, the Bar had 60 members, including 3 pleaders, and the District Bar Association was founded on November 1, 1989, following the creation of the Kaithal District. Guhla also boasts its own Bar Association. Eminent lawyers associated with the District Bar Association Kaithal include Sarv Shri Dinanath Advocate, Choudhary Baru Ram Advocate, and Shri O.P. Tiwari, Advocate.
